Boston Financial Data Services, Inc. Hosts Conference to Help Chief Compliance
Officers Meet Due Diligence Requirements
Quincy, Mass., October 21, 2005 – Earlier this week, Boston
Financial Data Services, Inc., a leading service provider and recordkeeper in the
mutual fund industry, held its first client structured "CCO due diligence site
visit." The conference, held at Boston Marriott in Quincy, provided an opportunity
for more than 90 Chief Compliance Officers, along with other mutual fund professionals
to discuss the many controls Boston Financial has in place as part of its transfer
agency services.
The goal of the event was to provide additional support to the CCOs through a
combination of facility tours, demonstrations and panel discussions. In addition,
this event provided the CCOs with the opportunity to network with a large number
of CCOs throughout Boston Financial’s diverse client base.
"Combining this visit and our webcast, along with other web based reporting tools
and face-to-face visits at our client sites, will provide our CCOs with the
information and support they need to effectively report to their Board of
Directors," said Paul O'Neil, Senior Director, Boston Financial.
"Our goal was to ensure that our CCOs have an understanding of the processes
and controls that we have in place and can tie these procedures back to the Federal
Securities Laws," said Joan Dowd, CCO Boston Financial.
Boston Financial Data Services, Inc. is one of the
industry’s premier third-party transfer agents and has been servicing the back-office
of the mutual fund industry since 1973. Boston Financial is a joint venture between
DST Systems, Inc. of Kansas City, Mo., and State Street Corporation of Boston, Mass.
